Time hunt is the bane of our modern life. I've just woken up sprawled across the bed with an untouched cold cuppa on the bedside shelf. Last I remember is thinking I'll watch the news at ten last night. I was working on the computer until 04:00 yesterday morning so I guess it's my own fault.
Of course visiting very poorly friends during the day didn't help along with every spare minute working in the garden.
Perhaps my body is saying slow down a bit.
Now where did I put my time machine controller?

Just a standard S8 non-heated screen, with tinted band.

I removed the screen surround today ready for the new screen to be fitted tomorrow. As usual, several of the clips were rusty because of the butyl sealant the factory fitted at the base of the drain channel, seemingly deliberately to make the clips rust. These will be replaced once the glass is out.

Marcel came over to help so we put the bonnet back on - the colour match is very good.

The headlight rubber trims have rotted away, so these were replaced with pieces from a donor set of lights which I'm using for parts

The corner trim is sold as part of the lens, but it can be removed easily enough

Good as new

One of the aluminium trims on the bumper was past recovery, but luckily I had one which was in usable condition and which polished up to a similar state as the other side

I forgot to take any pictures of the front end all back together, but the car is now back on its wheels ready for Autoglass tomorrow. I'll be putting the interior back in before they arrive, and hopefully polishing up the rest of the brightwork before taking it to Nicola's

General putting-back-together today, and a new windscreen. After that was done I made a start on assessing which bits of brightwork can be recovered - some are beyond saving.

Some pieces come up ok

C-pillar trim

Engine bay almost done

Bunk beds tonight! I'm slightly behind the plan at the moment - it was supposed to be at Nicola's today but I still need to do some more on the engine bay and interior, and finish off the brightwork.

The silver one in the foreground is here for a service and thermostat while Andrew's is off being detailed, which hasn't quite gone to plan! So, Nicola is coming over tomorrow to work on the brightwork while I reassemble and swap over some pieces which can't be saved.

I'm going to need some serious advice on maintaining the looks after you and Nicola have finished.

Pretty sure you've probably mentioned this in another WITW thread, but what do you use to protect the brightwork after you get them cleaned up?
