Audi Heritage is the Audi UK fleet, kept for posterity/comparison testing as the car gets older (where things like a B5 RS4 comes from with minimal mileage when a classic car mag is comparing it to something like a Porsche for similar money)

That's assuming the dealer isn't talking out of their arse and it's just been sat in a field......I'd like to see some evidence of that provenance.

I'd be looking at the age of the tyres first - has it gone through a set already (quite possible with track work involved and lead boots), and if not they'll probably be getting hard with age.

With HUD, Ian, does that mean it'll defo have radar cruise? Seem to recall they were in a package.....

Yes exactly. If it were heritage, why are they dumping it ? Makes no sense. They are supposed to be kept perfect forever.

No, defo separate.

Spec isn't very exciting at all to be honest (to me)

No B&O, no sunroof. No ACC. No blinds, no road sign recognition, no homelink, no soft close, etc etc.

It does have night vision (which is a gimmick for 2 minutes, then you work out its pointless), advance key, 360 degree camera.

The photos to me suggest it has ceramics. the disks look the right colour, and they fill the alloys at the front, but not on the description.

I'm a bit rusty on C7 spec tbh. Seems with this one you're paying a mahoosive amount of money for a low mileage car, and it will devalue painfully for every mile you put on it.

I budgeted 1/mile in fuel and depreciation for my C6 Rs6 and my math was about spot on. Cheaper to get a taxi everywhere

A search on AT for C7 era RS6s and a rather nice spec black one came up as the cheapest option, with sensible miles:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-det...02010195171433

HUD (which I liked when I had a go in one), pano roof, soft close all mentioned

I can't buy another black car - it's driven me round the bend with the S5!

i've never been a fan of the HUD. I had it in my Q7, S5 and A7. I turned it off in them all.

The concept is great, but for me, I already have a focal point out on the road, and one on my instruments. The HUD is just another thing to have to refocus on to be able to see.

If the data on it was more comprehensive, and I felt I never needed to look back at the cockpit, then maybe I'd get on with it better but it just annoyed me in all honesty....

The HUD in my M4 is fantastic, would never buy another car without it - both the missus and Daddy Sarg said the same when they drove it

I understand the Audi one, on the D4 at least, did not even have the speed limit display on the HUD? I also believe the D5 has improved on this.

I can get speed, revs, shift lights, nav instructions, traffic signs, radio/music info, and more, and it's configurable too with 2 separate settings, one for daily driving, one for 'M' mode

My elder son has the same opinion, had it on his old X5 and required it on his new X5M.
I've driven his old one and certainly didn't need to refocus or get distracted by it. Never driven an Audi that has had it active so can't compare.

I'd have done that if I were you, so hopefully you'll get the result you want.
