Default The Volkswagen Phaeton D2

I just found this on YouTube and thought it might be of interest to the lovers of the big barges (particularly those that, like me, must have been asleep when the motoring press started talking about it).

I've always been a fan of the Phaeton's external styling, but never the interior. But this looks lovely in my opinion. I think it's got a bit of a Rolls Royce C pillar and an A8 rear.

Anyone else like it?

Watched this just recently and noticed how there are some design features that have influenced the D4 and D5 design.

I think the concealed front centre air vent in the original Phaeton was a precursor to the one in the D5.

Bit odd to call it Phaeton D2 though, since the original Phaeton was based mostly on the D3 platform. Phaeton D5 would make more sense with modern underpinnings.

Interesting video and an amazing looking car. Now I need to go check out the Tuareg's and see what he's talking about, cos the one we have could certainly do with a tad more luxury.
