WANTED D2 - D3 Petrol preferably S8.. ULEZ Compliant
 

Hello everyone.

I am in the market for D2 or D3 has to be Ulez compliant as it will be my dailiy. Does any one have anything interesting for sale?

Would you be able to give some more guidance that might help those on here to help you with this - e.g. your guide price/budget would be the most obvious thing to add, but maybe location too?

Your ULEZ comment implies that you're somewhere near London, which many of us aren't, so it could also help if you could advise on whether you're up for travelling to see anything suitable too :)

My budget is arround 6-7K for the right car. I Live in London Hence the Ulez compliant. I am willing to travel for the right car, so distance is not an issue

Very bloodie stupid.
In my very compliant motor I had to pay £15 on Remembrance Sunday just to drive along Pall Mall.
But I believe that is a congestion charge but on a Sunday?

Patience...there are a (large!) number of people on here who don't come on here on a daily basis - those with busier lives than me :ROFL:.

I'd suggest giving it until at least the end of the upcoming weekend.

Alternatively, try ebay or Pistonheads, if you can't wait and haven't already tried there ;)

Many on here are long term owners with the intention of remaining so. Tbh there's little turnover between forum members or even putting their motors up for sale. Most have usually acquired their cars from outside sources and, as there a only few cars left, even these are few and far between.

You're more likely to find something on the FB groups tbh. Stuff pops up there reasonably often.

You'd need to get the registration to run it past the ULEZ checker, 2001 seems to be a changeover year for that, not sure at what build date though.

I'm not really into FB but having had a quick gander I realise I know all the moderators there so maybe I need to at least have a look?

Very much so, far too many 'Barry' cars appearing on the FB group for my liking

Engine code is AVP so it's an FL2 and so ULEZ-compliant.

It is a early FL2 though because it has the PRND432 shifter which is rare in an FL2 - almost all of them are PRNDS.

Whole ULEZ thing's a puzzler. Mine left the factory January 2001 & was registered April 2001. Y plate. It's Euro 3 & the minimum compliance is Euro 4. But according to TfL the only thing I'd have to pay for is the congestion charge.

That said, driving through London always feels like playing 4 wheel Russian Roulette to me & I'd be a bag of nerves risking the S8 in that on a regular basis...the likely single figure mpg wouldn't be much of an incentive either.

This is covered in the other thread we had recently. The FL2 A8 is Euro4 and so is compliant with the ULEZ. The FL2 S8 is indeed Euro3, however the DVLA originally registered the S8 as a sub-model of the A8 which appears to have ended up with them classifying it as Euro4, either because of a mistake or a technical limitation of the system which runs such things (gnomes in a dungeon in Swansea carving information in to stone tablets with toothpicks).
